Rejected Spode crockery with enamel transfers
various sizes

With the help of production staff and technicians at Spode, I screenprinted enamel water-lift transfers to permanently decorate items rejected by the quality control department using their individual fault codes and markings. Each item was rendered unique through this process and testified to the individual skill and attention to detail of the craftspeople. At the time the future of this historic company, and its workforce, seemed uncertain.
